“Grace That Strengthens: The Favor That Empowers Us”

“Grace That Strengthens: The Favor That Empowers Us”

A blog by Keturah of Set-Apart Selections

Oftentimes we hear the word grace.

It’s sung in songs, quoted in sermons, sprinkled across social media... but more often than not, it’s being used wrong.

We hear sweet sentiments like “give yourself grace” but somewhere along the way, the true meaning of this powerful word got watered down.

Grace, or favor, is not just a soft cushion for our mistakes.
It’s not a get-out-of-jail-free card.
It’s not comforting language to ease a guilty conscience.
And it’s definitely not an excuse to remain in sin.

Grace is the power Abba gives us to overcome.

Let me say that again:

Grace is the active, empowering presence of YHWH in our lives, giving us strength to do what we could never do on our own.

2 Corinthians 12:9

“And He said to me, ‘My favor is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.’ Most gladly, then, I shall rather boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Messiah rests on me.”

❌ What Grace Is Not

In many circles, grace has been used and misunderstood as permission.

"Grace means I'm covered no matter what I do."

"Grace means He understands, even if I keep falling into the same thing."

But the Word tells a different story.
Grace doesn’t enable sin.
It breaks its grip.

Titus 2:11-12

✅ What Grace Truly Is

Scripture reveals grace as a powerful force. A gift a tool for strength. YHWH’s own power at work within us, helping us walk in righteousness, set-apartness, and spiritual maturity.

Here are three truths Ive learned regarding grace:

1. Grace is strength in weakness.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness…”
(2 Corinthians 12:9)

In our lowest places, His favor empowers and strengthens us. Not by removing the difficulty, but by adding His presence which gives us strength within it.

2. Grace labors in us.

“I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of Elohim which was with me.”
(1 Corinthians 15:10)

Paul did mighty works for the Kingdom, but he didn’t credit himself. He pointed to Yah's grace as the power behind his effort.

3. Grace teaches and transforms.

“For the grace of Elohim that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us to deny wickedness and worldly lusts...”
(Titus 2:11–12)

Yes, grace is apart of the saving power but it also instructs. It says “not this way, beloved. Come higher.” Grace pulls us out of sin. Not just from its penalty, but from its presence.

“I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of Elohim which was with me.”
(1 Corinthians 15:10)

The Visible Power of Favor

When someone is walking with YHWH, truly walking. The grace that walks with him becomes visible.

It shows up in:

  • Their ability to walk away from old patterns

  • Their peace in the middle of chaos

  • Their strength to obey, even when it’s costly

  • Their light that others can’t ignore

Favor is not invisible.
It moves, breaks addictions, heals, and transforms the mind.
Grace is not just for your comfort. It's strength for your purpose.

📖 Acts 4:33

“And with great power the emissaries gave witness to the resurrection of the Master יהושע, and great favor was upon them all.”

When the early believers walked in alignment with YHWH, grace wasn’t just felt, it was seen, and it empowered them to boldly walk in purpose while others received the blessing from their surrender.

💛 Final Thought

So the next time you hear someone say “give yourself grace,” I hope you’ll pause and remember:
True grace doesn’t leave you stuck.

It lifts you up and walks you out clothed in power, peace, and purpose.

And if you’re feeling weak today, know this:
You don’t have to carry it all.
You don’t have to be the strongest one in the room.
You just have to stay surrendered.

Because His grace and favor will do what your strength never could.

“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says YHWH of hosts.
Zechariah 4:6

Let’s pray...

Abba,
Thank You for the grace You give—grace that transforms and gives strength to the weak.
You are so faithful to equip us with favor, so we can stand firm through every trial.
We are humbled by Your love and presence.

We know that we can do all things through Yahusha who gives us strength.
Let us bear fruit that others can glean from—the fruit of Your goodness filling us daily.

Help us walk in a way that’s worthy of Your grace.
Let us never take Your favor for granted, but carry it with a sense of nobility,
knowing we are representations of the King.

There aren’t enough words to thank and praise You.
It is our honor to serve You, and we will do it with all our heart, mind, and soul.

HalleluYAH!
